GRASS LAKE, MI (WTVB) – It was a strong start to the season for the Quincy track teams at the 49th Grass Lake Warrior Invite on Saturday as the girls edged Hillsdale by 2 1/2 points to finish first while the boys were beaten by the host team by a half point for the top spot.
Quincy boys….Ashtyn Morris first place in both the shot put and discus, Caleb Kelley was third in the discus, Ethan Hollister was first in the long jump and third in the 100, Kaleb Handy and Corey Turner tied for first in the pole vault and the 1,600 relay team of Bryce Bellamy, Bryton Beckwith, Rhett Reif, and Clayton Benson were second.
Quincy girls…Brooklyn Parker won the 300 hurdles and was second in the 100 hurdles, Sophia Snellenberger won the shot put and discus, Raigen Horsfall was second in both events.
Bronson finished fifth in the boys meet and ninth in the girls meet.
Bronson boys….Boston Bucklin won the 400 and was second in the high jump, Tyler Wilber was second in the 200 and Bronson won the 800 relay.
Bronson girls…Jaiden Hayes was second in the long jump and in the 300 hurdles
