BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Local police officials are trying to raise awareness about a sharp increase in drug overdoses and deaths in the Kalamazoo area.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that that Battle Creek Police, other law enforcement agencies in Calhoun County, and the county Public Health Department urge caution around a potential “bad batch” of heroin that appears to have caused over a dozen overdoses and multiple deaths on Thursday in the Kalamazoo area.
Agencies are testing drugs that have circulated in that area, and officials want to raise awareness before it potentially circulates in Calhoun County.
