UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City track teams won the majority of events on Saturday as they hosted the annual Branch Area Best Track meet at Alumni Field.
No team scores were kept.
Union City won 12 events in the boys meet followed by Coldwater with three wins and Bronson with two.
Union City winners were Riley Laird (100 and 200), Hunter Sinke (400), Ben Gautsche (1600), Jason Shoop (3200), Nathaniel Maurer (300 hurdles), Logan Cole (shot put and discus) and Rick Austin (long jump). The Chargers won the 800, 1600 and 3200 relays.
Coldwater winners were Kendall Austin (110 hurdles) and Hunter Munson (pole vault). The Cardinals won the 400 relay.
Boston Bucklin of Bronson won the 800 and the high jump.
Union City won eight events in the girls meet while Quincy won five and Coldwater won four.
Union City winners were Adalynn Rumsey (200 and long jump), Skyler Fraley (3200) and Nevada Gillons (100 hurdles and 300 hurdles). The Chargers won the 400, 800 and 3200 relays.
Coldwater winners were Grace Huff (800), Lainey Yearling (1600) and Jaelah Sloan (high jump). The Cardinals won the 1600 relay.
Quincy winners were Anna Richer (100), Elizabeth Craig (400), Sophia Snellenberger (shot put and discus) and Lita Fulton (pole vault).
