Dean Normand Moore, 76, of Quincy, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Drews Place of Coldwater with his son and daughter-in-law by his side.
There will be no services for Dean Normand Moore at this time, in accordance with his wishes.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
He was born on August 31, 1946 in Coldwater to Normand and Annetta (Lamb) Moore.
Dean graduated from Coldwater High School in 1964 and later attended Tri-State College. He joined the United States Air Force in 1966. After completing his training at Lowery Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado, Dean was stationed at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida. During the Vietnam War, Dean was sent to Thailand to serve his country for a year.
In October 1966, he married Becky (Scheidler) Moore-Bible. Together they had a daughter named Leslie in 1969 and a son named Britt in 1973.
For the past 30+ years, Dean owned and operated D&D Irrigation, along with his son.
Throughout his life, Dean enjoyed many hobbies including golf, billiards, poker, and karate. He was well-known for his great one-liners and competitive nature. Dean had several holes-in-one while golfing, primarily at The Golf Club of Coldwater.
Many years ago, Dean owned and operated Rack-n-Cue and Side Street Family Billiards in Coldwater. He enjoyed playing pool with many friends throughout his adult life.
Dean was a skilled Moo Duk Kwan Taekwondo instructor, training diligently under Grand Master Sun Hwan Chung to earn the status of 2nd degree master black belt.
Dean is survived by one daughter, Leslie Moore of Texas; one son, Britt (Amanda) Moore of Coldwater; five grandchildren, Bradey and Brooke Moore, Zane and Brady Kaufman, and Kelly (Michael) Michaelis; three great grandchildren, Annabelle, Dean, and Maddie Michaelis; two nephews, Chad and Bran Moore; and his little pug that he lovingly called “Cal-Cal.”
Dean was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bran Moore.
Memorial donations are suggested to Drews Place of Coldwater or to Gentiva Hospice.
