COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After serving communities around Branch County for decades, the Shoppers Guide published for the final time this week.
As first reported by Kevin North on his MyColdwater.com web site, the Shoppers Guide ceased publication after this past Wednesday’s edition.
For years, the Shopper’s Guide came to your home or you could pick one up at numerous businesses or locations free of charge.
It operated at 57 South Monroe in Coldwater before Gannett Media Company put that building as well as the building that used to be the site of the Daily Reporter at 15 West Pearl up for sale in March of 2021.
The Shoppers Guide continued to operate in recent years as Gannett tried to cut costs like selling their two Coldwater buildings but the size of the publication has been greatly reduced in recent years.
Before the internet and social media platforms took hold, the Shoppers Guide was packed every week with ads as well as classifieds for such items as garage sales and apartment rentals.
