William Albert “Bill” Angus, 85, of Coldwater passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at his residence.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family is being served by Lighthouse & Cremation in Union City.
Bill was born January 19, 1938 In Detroit, Michigan to Samuel and Harriet (Roe) Angus. He graduated from Fenton High School in 1956.
In his early years he worked as a conservation officer for the State of Michigan all over the state. In the 1970s, as a district manager for Equitable Life Insurance he was transferred from Flint to Battle Creek. Mid-career he worked as Sales Manager for several car dealerships in Battle Creek, Coldwater, Sturgis, Hillsdale, Leslie and Rose City, and retiring from Burnside RV in Gaylord.
In the early 1980s he lived in Bronson where he married the former Bonnie May in March 1983. In 1998 they moved to Roscommon and moving back to Coldwater in 2018.
A man of many interests, Bill enjoyed woodworking and traveling by car so he could see the countryside. He had a stubborn streak, was a good conversationalist and like talking about politics and other current events. He liked working outside and doing yardwork and was happy to just putter around in the garage. But his greatest pride and joy in life were his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by Bonnie, his wife of 40 years; children, William J (Jane) Angus of Fenton, Laurie Olson of Rochester, Michael (Dolores) Angus of Alanson, Stephannie (Joe) Interrante of Maricopa, AZ; step-children LeAnne Weber of Madison, OH and Darcy (Kevin) Henning of Quincy: fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; siblings Joyce VanCamp of Clio and James (Valerie) Angus of Fenton and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Marilyn Brown; and brothers-in-law Ken Brown and Don VanCamp.
