(BRONSON) – The principal at Ryan Elementary School in Bronson recently submitted her resignation to the district.
Kristen Frisbie stepped down on April 14 in order to pursue other opportunities. The Bronson School Board is scheduled to formally accept her resignation during their May 15 meeting.
Before being named principal at Ryan Elementary in June of 2020 by the school board, Frisbie was a teacher for 18 years in the Three Rivers School District, and a principal in the Mendon School District for four years.
She also served three years as the Curriculum and Instructional Consultant for the Constantine Public Schools.
Her departure comes after some parents have been grumbling about conditions at the school.
Minutes from the Bronson School Board meeting in March showed two parents expressed their concerns about what they felt were bullying, discipline and safety issues at Ryan Elementary. A number of parents have stated the same concerns in posts on social media platforms and a private Facebook group with over 100 members was formed in late March.
Superintendent Steve Wilson said in the district’s monthly news letter that for the remainder of the school year, he along with Director of Curriculum Kate Wall will be playing dual rules with their current positions as well as serving as building principals.
