COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s Elli Foley set a new school record in the shot put on Thursday night in a dual track meet with Harper Creek at Cardinal Field.
Foley’s distance of 39 feet, 1 ½ inches won the event by almost six feet. She broke the previous record held by Katie Kubasiak which was 38 feet, 11 ¾ inches set back in 2007.
The Coldwater girls lost to Harper Creek 115-43.
Besides Foley’s shot put win, other first place finishes for the Cardinals were recorded by Jaelah Sloan in the high jump and long jump, by Grace Huff in the 800 and by Lainey Yearling in the 3200.
Harper Creek also won the boys meet over Coldwater 107-56.
The Cardinals got wins from Haroon Omar in the 3200, Zach Coffing in the shot put and from Kevin Hall in the discus.
