QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy girls softball team split a Big 8 Conference doubleheader with Jonesville on Senior Night.
Both games ended in lopsided scores. Jonesville won the opening game as they boat raced the Orioles 18-0 but Quincy bounced back in the second game to house the Comets 23-4.
Quincy was only able to manage two hits in game one, singles by Kailey Allman and Deziray Skirka that came late in the game.
Jonesville had 12 hits to score their 18 runs in the three inning victory which was also helped by seven walks and multiple misplayed balls by the Orioles defense.
Things were much different for Quincy in game two. Alyssa McCavit got the win in the circle by pitching all five innings. She struck out three and allowed just two hits.
Quincy pounded out 16 hits led by Danika Skirka with a single, double and a triple. Josie Mescher added three hits that drove in four runs.
The Orioles had a couple career milestones accomplished by two of their seniors. Kailey Allman scored four times to go over 100 runs scored in her career.
McKynna Connin had two hits to pass 100 career hits. The three seniors who played their final home game were Katie Bailey, Kailey Allman and McKynna Connin.
