BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson employer that was formerly known as Douglas Autotech Corporation is now JTEKT Column Systems North America Corporation.
A ribbon cutting ceremony has been scheduled for Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend.
Company President Matt Hauret is scheduled to speak. A Welcome Certificate will be presented by the Bronson Chamber of Commerce followed by tours of the factory from 1:45 p.m. until 3:00 p.m..
The new name went into effect on April 1st, 2023. The Douglas Autotech brand has enjoyed a long-standing history of stability dating back to its origin in 1902 when the Warner and Douglas Corporation was established in Bronson.
In 1991, global manufacturer Fuji Kiko purchased Douglas Autotech to increase their presence in North America. They expanded Douglas Autotech in 1994 by establishing a second manufacturing plant in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
The Hopkinsville Kentucky location expanded its operations once again in 1999. JTEKT Corporation came about following a 2006 merger.
JTEKT Corporation says they are now a global leader in engineering and manufacturing automotive systems, bearing solutions and high-performance machine tools.
JTEKT Column Systems North America will continue as a steering column supplier to all customers.
