Oily rags leads to $10,000 Wednesday afternoon shed fire in Girard Township

GIRARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Fire Marshal Steve Trall says oily rags on the deck were the probable cause of a fire Wednesday afternoon which caused about $10,000 worth of damage to a shed at 736 Union City Road north of Jonesville Road.

The fire was reported at 2:50 p.m..

Trall says the shed was fully involved when Coldwater firefighters arrived.

The fire managed to spread to the deck around the swimming pool.

Trall reports there was damage to the pool cover and liner as well. No injuries were reported.
