BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings picked up a pair of non-conference girls softball wins on Thursday as they swept Athens 10-0 and 11-9.
Addison Harris was the winning pitcher in both games. She tossed a one hitter in the opener and came on relief to pitch the final four innings in the second game.
Haylie Wilson led the Bronson offense in the first game with four hits and two RBI’s. Ashlynn Harris and Addison Harris both had two RBI’s.
Ashlynn Harris had four hits in the second game as she had two singles, a double and a triple.
Wilson had a single and a double. She along with Brealyn Lasky both drove in two runs.
Coach Becky Gray said, “We played very well the first game. Addie had a great game on the mound and the team played great defense behind her. We also hit the ball well. The second game we didn’t pitch well and the defense was sloppy. Thankfully we hit the ball well again the second game. I am pleased we were able to get 2 wins tonight.”
The Vikings improved their overall record to 19-10. They will face Quincy next Tuesday.
