COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The 35th Coldwater Swap Meet and Car Show will be held this weekend rain or shine at the Branch County Fairgrounds.
The annual Mother’s Day weekend event is the largest show in the area. It features over 1,600 show cars and motorcycles along with about 300 vendors that take part in the swap show.
The schedule of events is pretty much the same as in past years. The gates will open both mornings at 8:00 a.m..
Saturday’s schedule includes a flag raising ceremony at 9:00 a.m., a Blessing of the Bikes at noon and a Muffler Rap and Open Header Contest at 1:00 p.m..
The Cruise Through Downtown Coldwater will start at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The route will be the same as in past years.
Both east and west bound traffic on U.S. 12 will be detoured onto Sprague, Garfield and Butters Avenue during the Cruise.
There will be a bike parade at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday followed by the Grand Prize drawing for owners of registered show cars and bikes.
The Coldwater Swap Meet and Car Show is a non-profit organization and the show proceeds go to local charities. Last year’s donation of $20,000 to 13 non-profit agencies brought the total amount of money raised up to $214,150.
