COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – One of the more successful Coldwater Car Show and Swap Meet was held this past weekend at the Branch County Fairgrounds.
Organizers say the final numbers for Saturday’s show were 2,779 spectators and 1,007 show cars.
Unlike in some past years, the weather co-operated this weekend with comfortable temperatures near 70 degrees and no rain.
This weekend’s event was the 35th edition of the annual Mother’s Day weekend show and swap meet.
Saturday’s schedule included a flag raising ceremony, a Blessing of the Bikes, and the Dickman Yee Memorial Muffler Rap and Open Header Contest.
Many of the show participants took part in the Cruise through the downtown area and other parts of Coldwater which lasted for nearly 15 minutes.
Both east and west bound traffic on U.S. 12 was detoured onto Sprague, Garfield and Butters Avenue during the Cruise.
The Coldwater Swap Meet and Car Show is a non-profit organization and the show proceeds go to local charities.
Over $214,000 has been donated to non-profit agencies over the last decade or so.
