COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – On a night when some regulars were rested with a big doubleheader coming up against Marshall, the Coldwater Cardinals girls softball team split a home twin bill with Hanover-Horton on Thursday. The Cardinals dropped the opener 15-3 before bouncing back to win the second game 6-5.
A two run double by Alexis Bills and a RBI single by Danika Cox accounted for the Coldwater scoring in the first game.
Coldwater snapped a 3-3 tie in the second game with a three run fifth inning. Bills broke the tie with an RBI double followed by a RBI single by Cox.
Morgan Dancer blasted a solo homer.
Mya Porter was the winning pitcher in the second game as she went the distance and struck out eight batters.
