COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Quincy man was formally charged with numerous sex crimes on Saturday in Branch County District Court.
45-year-old Henry Todd Hoath was booked at the Branch County Jail following an investigation by Quincy Police.
He is facing three charges of second degree criminal sexual conduct in which the alleged victim is under the age of 13.
Prosecutors also filed charges of aggravated child sexually abusive activity, aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, using a computer to commit a crime and capturing and distributing an image of an unclothed person.
A second offense habitual offender sentencing enhancer was also filed by prosecutors. Court records indicate Hoath was previously convicted in 1997 for attempted misdemeanor fourth degree criminal sexual conduct.
Branch County court records also indicate the investigation into the alleged crimes started in February and that they allegedly took place between November of 2022 and January of 2023.
The Michigan State Police assisted Quincy Police with the investigation.
Bond during the arraignment was set at $100,000 and a not guilty plea was entered on Hoath’s behalf by the court.
If Hoath should post bond, he was ordered not to have contact with the alleged victim or anyone under the age of 18 and he can not use electronic devices.
A probable cause hearing was scheduled for June 1 with a preliminary exam on June 7.
