BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – It was a tough day on Wednesday for the Bronson Vikings girls softball team Bronson was swept by state-ranked Grass Lake 12-2 and 9-4 in a non-conference doubleheader.
Grass Lake was ranked seventh in Division Three in the latest Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association poll.
The Vikings defense fell apart in the first game as they committed 11 errors which led to ten unearned runs.
Addison Harris had two of the three Bronson hits.
Ashlynn Harris and Haylie Wilson both doubled and had two hits in the second game.
Coach Becky Gray said, “We did not play well tonight. We had too many errors especially the first game and we did not hit well. Grass Lake is a good team and when you don’t come out and play well against a good team it usually doesn’t end well. We have to work hard to get ready for Districts.”
Bronson’s record is now 24-13. They will face Parma Western next Tuesday.
