Bill was born November 11, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Mary (Swinciski) Zusin. He had one older sister, Helen (Patrick) Breslin of Elkins Park, PA.
In 1965-1966 Bill served in the U.S. Coast Guard in Gloucester City, NJ. Following his service he was the Administrative Director for the Salvation Army Women’s shelter in Philadelphia. After many years there Bill moved to Arizona, where he owned and ran a charter bus company, but eventually moved back east to New Jersey.
While driving as an owner/operator for North American Van Lines out of Fort Wayne, IN, Bill met Jackie. He taught her how to drive truck and they drove as a team for a year. He then became an over the road driver for Genova of Indiana, where he drove for 12 years. After being together for many years, he and Jackie married on April 4, 2004. In May 2013 they moved from Fort Wayne to Tekonsha.
No matter where he went, Bill never met a stranger and he was always willing to lend a helping hand if he was able to do something for someone.
He is survived by his wife Jackie; step-daughter, Michelle Brooks; and very special friends he thought of as daughters, Lora Connerly of Fort Wayne and Rose (Jeff) Johnson of Whitwell, TN.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Church of God of Tekonsha, Erin’s Angels, or the Humane Society of Branch County.
