BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The girls soccer seasons for the Coldwater Cardinals and the Bronson Vikings ended on Wednesday night as both teams lost opening round district matches on their home pitches.
Coldwater was beaten by Gull Lake 4-0 in the Division Two districts hosted by the Cardinals.
The Blue Devils advanced to next Wednesday’s 5:00 p.m. semifinal against Marshall. Harper Creek will face Vicksburg in the second semifinal at around 7:00 p.m.. The district finals will be on June 2 at 6:00 p.m..
Bronson lost in the Division Four districts to Calhoun Christian 5-1.
Bronson goalkeeper Tenleigh Watkins had 14 saves in the goal. The only Viking goal was scored by freshman Journey Smith.
The Vikings named Itzel Sanchez Luna as their team MVP for the season and the Rookie of the Year award went to Smith.
The Vikings finished the season 3-11-1.
