COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinals girls softball team wrapped up the regular season by sweeping a doubleheader from Otsego on Thursday by scores of 2-1 and 3-1.
Both of the games were five innings as the Cardinals extended their winning streak to seven straight.
First game winning pitcher Alexis Bills gave up five hits with no walks and had five strikeouts. Danika Cox’s double tied the game 1-1. Brooklyn Kerry brought home the winning run with a double in the bottom of the fourth. Mya Porter got the pitching victory in the second game on a three hitter as she whiffed five Otsego batters. Kerry had a pair of two baggers and drove in a run. Kenzie Scheid had a RBI single.
With the two wins, Coldwater improved to 30-8. They will face Marshall next Tuesday in a MHSAA Division 2 Pre-District game.
