COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education gave Superintendent Kris Jenkins a “highly effective” rating during their meeting on Wednesday.
The action came after the board went into an executive session to discuss the superintendent’s evaluation.
Jenkins has served as the district superintendent since July of 2018.
In other business, the board approved a bid of over $327,000 from Sinclair Restoration of Holland for the installation of playground equipment at the Waldron Center.
Plans call for the playground to include a poured-in-place safety surface, a track ride, structures and swings.
They also approved the creation of a Special Education Supervisor position.
Nine retiring staff members were honored during the Board meeting. They were Jeanne Asher (Early Childhood Specialist/Education Coach), Linda Beemer (School Counselor/BACC), Julie Bucklin, Mary McRae and Kathy Morick (Para Professional, Special Education), Daletta Payne (Lunch Aide, Early Education), Susan Shirk (Interpreter, Special Education), Susan Sobeske (Career Development Consultant, BACC) and Tracie Somerset (Teacher, Special Education).
