BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The first of four major projects for the Branch County Road Commission is scheduled to start on Wednesday.
That’s when crews will start paving a three-and-a-half mile stretch of State Road between the I-69 bridge and Quincy-Grange Road.
This summer’s work will include two bridge replacement projects.
One of the bridges, the 55-year-old Marshall Road bridge over Hog Creek, had to have it weights lowered in November of 2020 due to its condition. The Clay Road bridge over Union Drain #2 is also being replaced. The project should tentatively take three months to complete.
Road maintenance work on Snow Prairie Road from U.S. 12 to the Michigan-Indiana line is scheduled to start on Monday, June 5.
Road Commission crews will also be performing 14 sealcoating projects with the largest being nearly seven miles of Central Road from Log Road to South Angola Road.
Six paving projects are on the docket including three miles of Fisher Road.
