EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) – For the second straight year, Quincy High School’s Sam Sawyer is Branch County’s lone representative in the M.H.S.A.A. Boys Golf finals.
He will be competing as an individual on Friday and Saturday at the 2023 Division Three finals which are being held at Forest Akers West on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing .
Sawyer finished 70th in Division Three last year with a two round score of 178.
After once again winning this season’s Big 8 Conference Most Valuable Player award, Sawyer qualified for the Division Three finals as a individual with a round of 84 during the Regional meet on May 31 at the Medalist in Marshall.
He finished third among golfers whose teams did not qualify for the M.H.S.A.A. Finals.
