UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The plans are in place for Union City’s “100 Dam Years” celebration on July 22 as they celebrate the Riley Hydro Electric Dam that turns 100 years old this summer.
There will be dam tours, a free concert, food and a large fireworks display over the Riley Dam. All of the events will be free.
The fireworks are sponsored by the Union Lake Association, Union City Rotary, Southern Michigan Bank and Trust and the Village of Union City.
According to a post on the village’s Facebook page, there will be free parking and a free shuttle service that will run from Union City High School to the dam.
Several food trucks and services are scheduled and will be available as well.
Bayou Country will perform at 7:30 p.m.. The band celebrates the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival.
In case of inclement weather, the celebration will be held on July 23.
