COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer Mary Rose will be celebrating her retirement after 40 years of service at the end of June.
She began her education at Kellogg Community College and Ferris State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, before obtaining her Master of Business Administration from Baker College. Rose began her role in health care as a staff nurse in Houston, Texas with oncology patients, while working on her fellowship with oncology research.
Over the years, she has been certified in oncology nursing and infection control. She has also received an Advanced Nurse Executive Board Certification and is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Rose says, “I knew I always wanted to help people. I love helping people and wanted to make a difference in the lives of patients. I always remember that my grandmother had regretted that she did not pursue a nursing career. She was my inspiration for choosing a nursing career.”
Her peers and staff say she is a wealth of knowledge and always thinks of what is best for each patient.
When asked about her plans for the future, she simply said, “My husband and I will be relaxing in our RV and enjoying time together, along with running our mini farm.”
