COLDWWATER, MI (WTVB) – Long time Coldwater High School Gymnastics Coach Kim Nichols along with her assistant Janet Kahler recently stepped down from their positions.
Their resignations were effective at the end of April and were regretfully accepted by the Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education during their May meeting.
Nichols has been coaching gymnastics for 20 years and she felt it was a good time to make an exit.
She currently is employed by the Calhoun Intermediate School District.
Nichols was named the 2019 Gymnastics Coach of the Year by Michigan High School Coaches Association after the Cardinals team had its best season in almost three decades.
That same year she was named the National Federation of High School Association (NFHS) Gymnastic Coach of the Year.
A staple for the C.H.S. Gymnastics Program for almost a dozen years has been the annual “Stick It For A Cure” fundraising event which raises money for ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital’s cancer center.
