COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Quincy will have the only parade on the Fourth of July in Branch County.
The annual Independence Parade in Quincy will start Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Quincy High School.
The parade route will follow Fulton, Jefferson, South Main and Liberty Streets.
With the Fourth of July falling on a Tuesday this year, fireworks shows will be spread out during the holiday weekend but one annual show in Branch County will not take place.
Because of the restoration work taking place at Union City High School’s Alumni Field this summer, there will be no Independence Day Celebration fireworks this year in Union City. The Union City fireworks show has always been held on the night of July 3. Instead, the Village is planning the largest fireworks display in Union City history on July 22 as part of the 100 Dam Years celebration of the Riley Dam.
Coldwater Lake, Lake George and Pokagon State Park will have their shows on Saturday night, July 1.
The Marble Chain of Lake and Gilead Lake fireworks shows will be held on Sunday night, July 2.
Coldwater’s fireworks are set for the evening of Tuesday, July 4 at Heritage Park.
It will be a long holiday weekend for some government workers. The Branch County Courthouse and all county offices will be closed on Monday.
It will be business as usual on Monday for city and village offices in Coldwater, Bronson, Union City and Quincy as they will remain open.
All government offices will be closed on the Fourth of July.
