COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater is planning to mill and repave the portion of South Sprague Street next to the west entrances to ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital between U.S. 12 and East Washington Street starting on Wednesday.
The project will reach the hospital area by Friday and there will be intermittent closures during the week of July 10 through July 14.
Residents are being asked to monitor the hospital’s social media platforms to get further updates.
It’s one of several milling and paving projects taking place this summer in Coldwater. Projects are scheduled to begin Wednesday on Chestnut, Northshore, Candlewood, Arapaho, Appaloosa, Shoshoni Pass, Western Avenue, South Sprague, Sauk River Drive and West Pearl between U.S. 12 and Jay.
The work is expected to last from two to three weeks. The projects were budgeted for the city’s 2023-24 fiscal year.
The City Council approved a bid of over $532,000 from Thompson Construction in April for the local street milling and overlay project. The project funds will be allocated from the City’s Act 51 Major Street Fund.
