She was born July 28, 1952 to Cleo and LaVallo (Alger) Hoard in Coldwater, MI. Susie was a 1970 graduate of Bronson High School. August 26, 1972, Susan married Larry R. Kosmerick in Coldwater and he survives.
Doodle enjoyed playing pool and cards with friends, along with fishing, frogging, mushroom hunting, target practicing, riding her bike, attending and having garage sales, and tending to her well-kept garden.
Doodle was a devoted wife and mother who took top priority in a clean and well-run home and devoted her time while able, in raising her two children. Susie enjoyed making visits to her friends and family to keep in touch prior to her illness and these visits were filled with stories and laughter. People who knew Susie loved her the most for her witty personality along with her honest matter of fact attitude and humor. Those who did not enjoy it, knew where they could go.
In addition to her husband Larry, Doodle leaves behind her children Matt (Jessie) Kosmerick of Fremont, IN, Amy (Chad) Wohlers of Quincy; her siblings Larry “Wire” Hoard of Cadillac, MI, Jeannie “John” (Andrew) Ammermann of Cookville, TN, Lenny “Porcupine” (Debbie) Hoard of Coldwater; her grandchildren Ryker Arlen and Rylie Sue Wohlers and her loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by very dear family members who include her parents, brother Leland “Butch” Hoard, grandparents Weldon and Jeannette Hoard, her uncle Leo and aunt Joyce Hoard, uncle Leon Hoard and aunt Gloria Ellinger, uncle Leonard and Sharon Hoard, and uncles Chuck and Ollen Alger.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility for 20+ years of unwavering care for Susan. The care and understanding they gave to Susie and her family will never be forgotten. A special thanks to Daniell Avra for supporting us through this transition- your words will remain with the family forever.
Thank you to Dr J Daoud for supporting Susie and the family through many difficult decisions. Finally, thank you to friends and family who took time to visit Susie over the years, especially during the difficult times of her illness, the visits meant more to Susan than you will ever know.
