BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – An Air Quality Alert has been extended through Monday by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy as pollutants are expected to be in the unhealthy for sensitive groups range for a second day.
The Action Day is in effect for the southern half of the Lower Peninsula as smoke originating from wildfires in west and central Canada will lead to increases in fine particulates concentrations.
Avoid activities such as refueling vehicles or topping off when refueling, using gasoline powered lawn equipment and using charcoal lighter fluid.
It is recommended that active children and adults and persons with respiratory diseases such as asthma limit prolonged outdoor exertion
