Douglas Lee Schlautmann, 66, of Bronson, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.
In accordance to his wishes, cremation has taken place with no services to be held at this time.
The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Douglas was born December 2, 1956, to Frederick and Janet (Modert) Schlautmann in Sturgis, MI. He married Bonnie Crapo on October 9, 1981 and she survives.
Doug honorably served his country in the United States Army where he then pursued his career in transportation. Throughout his career, Doug operated as both an independent and commercial truck driver until his retirement.
Mr. Schlautmann was not only dedicated to his country, but his community as well where he also was a member of the Bronson American Legion and the Bronson Knights of Columbus.
In his spare time, Doug enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, NASCAR, and playing cards; but what he loved above all else was time well spent with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Bonnie, Doug leaves behind his children Shawna Ransbottom, Doug Schlautmann Jr. both of Bronson, Joani Morales, Chris Schlautmann both of Sturgis, Cathy Doyle of Bronson; his siblings Jackie Fry, Cindy Dunham, Fred Schlautmann, Joe Schlautmann, Teresa Evans all of Bronson; his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Michael Lung.
