BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Issues with smoke from Canadian wildfires have returned.
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy says a Clean Air Action Day is in effect Tuesday for the entire state due to wildfire smoke from Canada in most of the Lower Peninsula.
In addition, an Air Quality Action Day has been declared by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management for all of northern Indiana including Steuben County.
Health officials are encouraging people to reduce or eliminate anything that can contribute to air pollution.
People are also being asked to keep their windows closed to prevent smoke from getting indoors.
