BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – With heat index readings expected to get up to near or above 100 degrees, the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory through midnight on Friday night.
High temperatures are expected to get above 90 degrees with peak afternoon heat index values in excess of 100 degrees.
Branch County is included in the advisory which covers a large portion of the Midwest.
Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside.
