BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Another round of heavy rain went through Branch County early Saturday morning as a soggy month of July starts to come to a close.
Most of the severe weather from this latest round of storms stayed to the south.
The M.S.U. Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Dairy Farm measured 1.13 inches of rain between midnight and 5 a.m. including over a half inch between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m..
It brought the July total at that location to 6.67 inches. Over three inches of rain fell between Wednesday and Saturday.
The July rainfall has been a welcomed relief for agricultural interests as Branch County was facing moderate and severe drought conditions earlier this summer.
Less than an inch of rain fell between May 7 and June 25 at the M.S.U. Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Dairy Farm. Since that time, 7.39 inches of rain has been measured there.
