COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A school therapy dog named “Jet” is now available for students at Pansophia Academy.
According to a post on the Pansophia Facebook page, students may be in supervised contact with the therapy dog throughout the school year in the form of classroom or playground visits, interactions in the office, or as part of an agreed upon therapy plan.
The therapy dog has received and is up to date on all necessary vaccinations and certifications.
Therapy dogs provide many benefits in the school setting as they help children learn compassion, empathy, responsibility, respect, and self-discipline.
Officials at Pansophia Academy will be familiarizing “Jet” to the school building during two weeks of summer school.
If a parent does not want their child to interact with “Jet”, they can stop in the main office and fill out a Therapy Dog Opt Out Form.
