CROOKED LAKE, IN (WTVB) – A fire which destroyed a home on the north side of Crooked Lake Saturday morning remains under investigation by the Angola Fire Department.
The fire was reported on Sycamore Beach Road at about 4:00 a.m.. Nearly a dozen crews from throughout Steuben and DeKalb Counties were called in.
Angola Fire Chief Doug Call says firefighters were on the scene for about eight hours. No injuries were reported.
Although there is no official cause for the fire yet, homeowner Tom Dickson told the Herald Republican newspaper in Angola his home was struck by lightning at the time some strong storms were moving through northeast Indiana.
