Bonnie Holloway, (McCollough) 84, of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023, at her home.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Mike Brudney from Lake Bethel Church in LaGrange, IN officiating. Interment will follow at Snow Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 4-7:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Bonnie was born April 10, 1939, in Branch County, MI to Melvin & Bessie (Traxler) Sharp.
Bonnie married Gary Mercer in 1956 and they were blessed with three children, Mark, Terri and Cindy. Gary preceded her in death in 1981. She married Hugh McCollough in 1968 and their family grew by three more children, Dusty, Rob and Jerry. Bonnie had formerly been married to Robert Holloway.
Bonnie worked at Quality Springs Togo from 1962-2002, earning 40 years of service.
Bonnie was a dedicated mother and grandmother, encouraging and cheering for her kids and grandkids whether on the ball field or at the fairgrounds. She devoted many years as a horse leader with the Hoofbeats 4H Club, teaching her own kids, as well as others, and treating them all as if they were her own. The Branch County Fair was her favorite week of the year, showcasing the area youth, their skills and accomplishments. She found great pride in watching her kids and grandkids show. Bonnie fiercely loved playing cards with her family and friends. She enjoyed working in her garden and feeding everyone around the table.
Bonnie is survived by her children Mark (Natalie) Mercer of Sturgis, Terri (Gary) Hergenreder of Aurora, CO, Cindy (Tom) Stephens of Joseph, UT, Dusty McCollough of Coldwater, Rob (Carri) McCollough of Bronson, Jerry (Beth) McCollough of Bronson; her grandchildren Matthew (Suzi) Hergenreder, Katelyn Mercer, Cheyenne McCollough, Michael Elliott, Ruger Ranney, Brian McCollough, Foster (Katlyn) McCollough, Bowen McCollough; her step grandchildren Jane (Josh) Goodman, Joshua (Linda) Walworth, Alex (Poorni) Walworth; her great grandchildren Mason Hergenreder, Jace and Zane McCollough, Kyren, William, Rae Lyn and Whiskey Elliott; her step great grandchildren Alanna & Cora Goodman, Elijah & Ezra Walworth, Janak & Rekha Walworth; her siblings Jane Neeley of Montgomery, Vickie McNeal of Dayton, OH, Danny Joe (Vicki) Sharp of Angola, IN; her former husband’s Hugh McCollough of Union City, Robert Holloway of Reading many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Bessie Sharp and brothers Gerald, Larry & Marvin Sharp and sister Sara Sharp.
Memorials may be directed to the Branch County Fair.
