COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The 93rd edition of the Branch County Fair officially opens on Sunday for a six day run at the Branch County Fairgrounds.
The theme for this year’s fair is “On the Marquee in 23”.
PreFair activities will take place Friday and Saturday as youngsters enter their exhibits.
The Fair parade will start at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Past Fair Board member Chris Donbrock will be the Grand Marshal.
The route will be the same as past years. From the Fairgrounds, the parade will turn onto South Jefferson and head north to U.S. 12. It will turn left and follow West Chicago to South Clay where it will turn left and head south to Park Avenue. The parade will follow Park to Jefferson where it will turn right and head back to the Fairgrounds.
The Branch Buds Animal Showing will take place after the parade at 6:00 p.m. in the Show Shelter.
The fair officially opens at 12:00 noon on Sunday but there will be limited food and no rides.
Sunday’s schedule includes the Poultry Show at 9:00 a.m., Antique Tractor Pulls in the Amphitheater at 11:00 a.m., the Rabbit and Cavy Show at 2:00 p.m. and Barnyard Children Judging at 5:00 p.m..
The Dearth Community Center will host an Inspirational Service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon along with the crowning of the Fair King and Queen at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday night.
The Elliot’s Amusement rides will open at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday which will also be Kids Day at the Fair sponsored by Meijer.
