COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch Pride Executive Director Chris Boger said in a strongly worded 20 minute Facebook video posted on Friday they will protest and picket the Coach Eby Youth and Family Center as well as the Good, Better, Best Store later this month for what Boger called their hateful and non-affirming treatment of the LGBTQ community.
Boger indicated there have been several issues between the Eby Center and Branch Pride for over three years which included an alleged incident during one of the Eby Center’s Friday Night Live events.
Boger is upset the Eby Center has accepted money from local non-profits and service organizations and that Branch Pride along with their supporters plan to picket on August 18 and 19.
A message has been left for a response from the Coach Eby Youth and Family Center on Boger’s accusations.
It’s stated on the Coach Eby web site that Friday Night Alive is a free program which allows students to enjoy recreational activities and a meal in a safe place. The center says, “We value the safety of all students and are committed to fostering a safe environment.”
Their web site also states the mission of the Coach Eby Center is “To bring hope, education, recreation, and inspiration to youth and families of Branch County by creating a Christ-centered environment. We value unconditional acceptance, Christ Centered living and community.”
But did you really make a teen turn their shirt inside out because it had lbgtq on it, that’s wrong.

Pride Community needs to raise money for themselves instead of relying on others to do the work for them. They also need to find their own building to gather. Not everyone shares the Pride Community views and these families that are involved with Eby Center should not have to share their safe place if made uncomfortable.
The Pride Community needs to respect the views of other people, instead of trying to force their own Pride beliefs on innocent and vulnerable children and families.
The money donated from Eby Center and Good Better Best goes to area schools to help gather supplies and tools to teach our students, not for political personal belief reasons.
As with all gay people, Boger is offended by nothing. He is just seeking attention as most gay and or Trans people do. If they aren’t offended by something and or can’t get their way, it’s only natural they .make stuff up. Boger, take your pity party elsewhere.
