COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – This year’s School Aid Budget includes $160 Million for the Michigan School Meals, State Reimbursement Program which means all students at Coldwater Community Schools will be able to receive breakfast and lunch for free this school year.
Coldwater Community Schools Director of School Dining Services Tamara S. Santora says Education Benefits forms are still required to be filled out even though breakfast and lunch are free.
The information collected is used by the state to provide funding for district education programs.
Watch for the forms in the mail. They can be submitted through Skyward Parent Access, through the mail, or dropping off the form at your child’s school.
Additional ala carte items can be purchased to supplement your child’s meals. Purchasing milk alone costs 50¢ per carton. However, students who bring their lunch from home can get a free meal that includes milk.
