UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Voting is open until September 18 in the Village of Union City to select the newest Union City Citizens of the Year.
Local persons over the age of 18 are selected for the honor every year. Citizens of the Year are selected to be honored for a project or service they have accomplished in Union City.
It can not be a part of their regular job in Union City. A resident can only be honored once.
The recommendation for this person must include their name, contact information if possible, what they did for Union City that warrants the recommendation and who is making the recommendation.
Usually two people are chosen. Any man or woman selected will be honored on September 30 at the Farm to Fork Event.
Ballot boxes are at the Broadway Restaurant, Jack’s Grocery and Miller Pharmacy.
Former Citizens of the Year will meet at the park at 6:30 pm on September 19th to make the selection. The names of past Citizens of the Year are on a plaque at the Village of Union City Office.
