UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The portable bleachers were put in place at Union City’s Alumni Field on Tuesday night in preparation for the Union City Chargers first home game against Centreville this week.
Michigan Bleacher Rentals delivered the bleachers and it took over two hours to set them up.
The renovation of Alumni Field started around the first of June and has been going on all summer.
The project includes new bleachers and it’s hoped everything will be ready for the track season in the spring.
Temporary bleachers and restrooms will have to be used for the Union City home football games this fall.
Union City Community School District voters approved a sinking fund millage renewal proposal in August of 2021 which provided a portion of the funding for the replacement of the Alumni Field bleachers as well as for other projects in the district.
