SAND CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Quincy couldn’t make a 20-0 halftime lead stand at Sand Creek. The Aggies outscored the Orioles 54-6 in the second half, including 46 unanswered points in the third quarter, to pick up the 54-26 win.
Noah Pearson was the leading rusher for Quincy with 8 carries for 109 yards and an 80-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Brenen Allman was 17/32 for 232 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. Ryan Kempter had 4 receptions for 50 yards and 2 touchdowns, Alex Dunn had 3 catches for 98 yards, and Joe Smith had 2 receptions for 28 yards and a score. Nash Fitton led the defense with 7 tackles and an assist. The Orioles open up Big 8 play next Thursday at Reading.
Elsewhere, Bronson opened the season with a 40-12 win against cross-state rival Prairie Heights. The Vikings play at Petersburg Summerfield next Thursday.
