HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – A 36-year-old suspect from Waldron was being held in the Hillsdale County Jail without bond on Tuesday following a stabbing and a residential break in.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police post in Jackson investigated the stabbing that took place Sunday night in the 9000 block of Crampton Road.
A 58-year-old from Hillsdale who suffered multiple non-life threatening stab wounds at the residence was taken to Hillsdale Hospital for treatment. The stabbing victim told investigators the suspect entered the residence without permission and assaulted the victim.
Following the stabbing, the suspect is said to have returned to a family members residence. The suspect told them about the stabbing and requested a shotgun.
The family members refused to provide a shotgun to the suspect who then left on foot and was believed to be armed with a knife.
A canine track was completed but the suspect was not found. The suspect was later found and arrested by Hillsdale County Deputies after a break in at another residence in Cambria Township.
The suspect was booked on pending charges of Assault with Intent to Murder, First Degree Home Invasion and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon with Unlawful Intent.
