Rebecca “Becky” Ann Torrey, 68, of Coldwater, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at her home in Coldwater, surrounded by her loved ones.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Frank’s Farm, 103 E. Central Rd. Coldwater, MI 49036 with Minister John Torrey officiating. Casual attire and passing dishes are welcomed.
The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
She was born December 4, 1954, to Norman and Jacquelyn (Eisenhut) Satterfield in Canton, OH. August 3, 1973, Rebecca married Jay M. Torrey Jr. in Kinderhook, MI, where they shared 50 years of union.
Becky was an honest woman, who led a dedicated career as a tool and die layout inspector with MPC, formerly known as RB&W for 30 years, and she then worked for Tenneco for another 10 years before retiring. She was a member and served as past president of the UAW and was very active in 4-H, especially with her children.
Becky was a talented cook and she loved horses, playing bunco, and bowling, where she was a member of several recreational leagues. She always spoke her mind, made her intentions clear, and above all, left no doubt in her greatest passion of all- her family.
Becky will be dearly missed as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved sister and friend.
Rebecca leaves behind her husband Jay Torrey Jr. of Coldwater, her children Nicci (Josh) Houck of Oklahoma City, OK, Jesse (Annie) Torrey of Angola, IN, Jackie (Spencer) Brayton of Coldwater; her sister Deborah Randall of Battle Creek; daughter-in-law Jo Torrey of Burr Oak; her 21 grandchildren Logan Houck, Emilie (Timothy) Arnett, Becca Houck, Gerald (Alexzandra) Hubbard, Cameron Hubbard, Hannah Houck, Bianca Hubbard, Kyla Houck, Taevin Torrey, Kiersten Torrey, Sidney Torrey, Koevin Torrey, Caedin Torrey, Aaliyah Torrey, Luna Torrey, Laelah Torrey, Mataeo Torrey, Elijah Houck, Malachi Torrey; her 4 great-grandchildren Nolan Hubbard, Sofia Raynal, Maeve Hubbard, Peyton Arnett. As well as her best friends Sally and Ralph Wenger and Craig Malone, plus many nieces and nephews, her dogs Sassy and Sadie, and so many more close family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her father and mother-in-law Jay (Bertha) Torrey Sr., her son Jason C. Torrey, and her brother-in-law Tom Torrey.
Memorial donations are suggested to the family, checks may be made payable to Jay Torrey Jr.
