CALEDOINIA, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s Varsity Girls Volleyball Team went 3-2 on Saturday at the Caledonia Tournament.
Coldwater won three out of four matches in pool play. They defeated Grand Ledge 25-23, 27-25 and South Christian 25-19, 25-21 before losing to Mattawan 20-25, 24-26. The Cardinals bounced back to defeat Forest Hills Eastern 25-16, 25-23.
Coldwater then lost to the host team from Caledonia 15-25, 24-26.

The Coldwater Freshman finished fourth as they went 2-2 in a tournament they hosted on Saturday. Coldwater lost 23-25, 25-16, 14-16 against Three Rivers to open pool play. In the second round of pool play, the Cardinals bounced back and beat a tough Portage Northern team 18-25, 25-22, 15-13. In the final round of pool play, the Cardinals beat Waverly 25-11, 25-23. In a bracket crossover match, the Cardinals fell 19-25, 10-25 to Schoolcraft. Leading the Cardinals at the service line was Khloe Tyler with 15 aces followed by Marie Powers with 12, Julianna Cowles with 11, Isabella Angevine with 5, Miyah Moore with 3, and Kaitlyn Senyk with 1. Khloe Tyler also led the team in kills with 8 followed by Marie Powers with 7, Kaitlyn Senyk with 5, Isabella Angevine with 4, and Myiah Moore with 1.
Coldwater will host Hastings during their our Purple Night on Wednesday to support our friends, family, and community who have fought against cancer. Please come out and support our teams as we recognize many survivors and play some volleyball.
