COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Good news for drivers on the west side of Coldwater.
The temporary traffic signals on U.S. 12 at the Coldwater River bridge that have been in place since May due to construction on the bridge have been removed by the Michigan Department of Transportation.
Traffic had been restricted to one lane in each direction on U.S. 12 near the Coldwater River bridge while the road and bridge work was taking place.
Motorists can now drive without waiting for a green light on the newly paved surface on the south side, one lane each direction.
The two lanes on the north side of U.S. 12 are now closed to traffic.
Stay alert as you drive on U.S. 12 west of Western Avenue as some work still has to be done on the $2-point-4 million project which is scheduled to wrap up by the middle of November.
In addition, Butters Avenue has reopened to traffic following the conclusion of a three week paving project.
