THREE RIVERS, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer rolled to an 8-0 mercy rule victory at Three Rivers Saturday morning.
Laith Musa had his second straight hat trick, scoring all three of his goals in less then 10 minutes to start the second half.
Arif Ahmed started the scoring for Coldwater with 30:29 to play in the first half, assisted by Nabil Saied. At 27:05 to play in the first half, Tammum Ahmed scored on a header off an Ezaldeen Ahmed corner kick. Saeed Ahmed scored the final goal of the first half with 10:34 to play, assisted by Liam Clark.
Musa got his first goal just 32 seconds into the second half, assisted by Arif Ahmed. He scored again with 34:10 to play, assisted by Mohsen Ahmed, and his final goal came with 30:45 to play, assisted by his twin brother Ghaith Musa.
Sophomore Liam Clark scored the final two goals of the game. The first cane with 28:27 to play, assisted by Arif Ahmed, with the final coming after a Mohammed Abdullah direct kick that rebounded off the Three Rivers goalkeeper with 15:10 to play, ending the game on the eight goal mercy rule.
Franky Ramos made one save in the first half, while Mohamed Alammari played goalkeeper in the second half but made no saves, as Coldwater outshot Three Rivers 18-1.
The Cardinals are now 8-5-1 on the season and return to Interstate 8 Conference action Tuesday hosting Jackson Northwest.
