COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Another step in the process for the proposed Sekisui Voltek expansion project took place during Monday night’s Coldwater City Council meeting.
The Council scheduled a public hearing for their October 9 meeting as the company is seeking a 12 year Industrial Facilities Tax Abatement.
City Assessor Samantha Albright told the Council the application was received last week.
It’s hoped construction can start at the end of this year with completion sometime in 2025.
SEKISUI Voltek, LLC announced about a year ago they has received Board approval from its parent company, SEKISUI Chemical, LTD, to move forward with a $39 million investment to expand operations in Coldwater.
Production at the current plant will remain at full operation during construction.
