COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Health Officer Rebecca Burns reported to the Community Health Agency’s Board of Health on Thursday that they are working on information to distribute to local school superintendents on COVID-19.
She said, “There continues to be confusion over how to address cases of this communicable disease. Our Agency utilizes the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and refer our school leaders to the Michigan manual on Managing Communicable Disease in Schools. Information is available on our website under the Clinic Services tab.”
Burns added there has been an uptick in COVID cases. The agency continues to offer free testing supplies at the COVID kiosks and through local libraries participating in the free test kit program.
While the Health Department is transitioning to the COVID-19 vaccine being a part of the commercial market, Burns pointed out free COVID vaccines for children are still available to those who quality through the Vaccine For Children program.
Free vaccines are also available under what is being referred to as the Bridge program for adults who lack insurance or are under insured.
